Kielder Water Sailing Club offers a wide range of water based activities for anyone who is interested in water sports. Every Sunday from March-November, they host dinghy racing competitions. For anyone who would like to give sailing a try for the first time, the sailing club also offers free taster sessions so you can come along and see if water sports are for you. The Coquet Valley itself offers a local sailing course for sailing enthusiasts. The Coquet Shorebase Trust is a charity based in Amble which offers water sports training and courses to anyone who is interested. The courses they offer are: canoeing, windsurfing and sailing, just to name a few. The Northside Surf School, who are also based in Amble offer surfing lessons off nearby beaches including Duridge Bay and Warkworth Bay. Northumbria Sailing offer sailing courses to keen any keen sailers. They offer both practical and theoretical sailing courses so you can be the sailer you have always wanted to be. Courses range from day courses to specialist courses, where you are able to learn many important sailing skills such as first aid, basic sea survival and gain your Restricted Radio Operators Certificate.
